Nikon D5 - XQD or CF Express B?

I *think* I am buying a D5 today o_O:nikon: with that said, I know there is now a memory card format choice. Is there any benefit to going XQD or CFX-B? Does anyone have any experience? I believe the cards are about the same price, I know that CFX-B will be more useful for future bodies.... that I don't think I'll be getting anytime soon, but that may have answered my question!

Are there any significant (performance) drawbacks to using CFX-B?

Using both formats interchangeably in the D5 with no issues at all. Don't see an in camera advantage with either but do see a marginal speed gain when transferring to the PC with the CFX-B.

More recent purchases have been CFX-B, really just to future proof.

Using Sony G series XQD and Sony Tough G series CFX-B with a Sony MRW-G1 reader.

I think I'll go CFX-B for future proofing and hopefully they'll become more affordable in time.
 
I bought a Lexar bundle of CFX reader + 64gb card, but it turns out there are few cardreaders that read both XQD and CFX. Simple lesson is one needs to travel with both readers, which is irritating as it must be a software issue.

Last month I bought a Used D5 dual XQD at a very reasonable price: very good condition with only 109K on the shutter (£1700). Earlier in the year (April/May) I noticed sellers such a Grays of Westminster and mpd had several in stock but the availability of Used D5's seems to have dropped off recently. They are finally within reach and the camera is still top notch for many genres. My 2 local shops no longer stock XQD cards so I will only buy CFX going forward (also for D850).

It is also well worth buying Thom Hogan's D5 ebook, as he drills into some of the obscure features and settings eg optimum ISO range etc.

But as far as I can find, the additional Group AF modes (HL and VL) get a mention once only. These were added in a firmware (probably as the D6 prototypes were maturing) to test additional group modes in the wild. Same goes for Recall Shooting Functions, which I find a big advantage over the D850 and D500
