Nikon D40X in Remote mode

Hi, can anyone tell me if there is a way to keep my D40X in remote mode. I set it up take a couple of pictures of birds in the garden then wait for different birds to come but by the time they do the camara has reverted back to normal mode. Many thanks in advance. Bill ;)

I'm pretty sure that you are limited to 15 mins before it goes back to normal.

Hi Kev, many thanks for a quick response but mine seems to go back to normal a lot quicker than 15 mins. How do I alter the time if you think the max is 15 mins ?. ;) Many thanks in advance. Bill

There's definately a menu entry for setting the "remote on" time. Sorry I don't have my old D40 here (grandson is using it) to check where it is in the menu ... but it's there for sure :)

If you are getting close to the time out on this setting then just take an empty picture and it'll reset the clock.
 
Hi Bill
First of all press the Menu button and scroll to Setup Menu. Make sure that CSM/Setup is set to Full.
Then scroll to Custom Setting Menu and scroll down all the options, you should get to one called Remote on duration, select that and you can pick a time up to 15 mins.
