Nikon D40 accessories help

Good evening!

First of all sorry for the amatureish questions.

I'm just looking at a few accesories for my newly bought Nikon D40. Looking for a lens hood and a few filters etc.

The only problem is that I can only find accesories that are adapted the the D40x. Now this may be a silly question but..... lets say for example THIS lens hood. Would this adapt to my D40? I only have the standard kit lens at 18-55mm. Also similar problem for filters, surley it is adaptable for them too? Not just the D40x???

Please help me Its been confusing me for a while!

EDIT - Would I be correct in thinking that the D40x has the same lens specifications as the D40 lens?

I'm pretty sure that the only differences between the D40 and the D40x is the megapixel count and the ISO settings.
The physical dimensions are the same, and the kit lens is the same, so these accessories should be fine. I think.

Just out of curiosity, whats the difference in the ISO settings between the two?

I think the D40x has the option of 100 ISO, whereas the D40 starts at 200.

Correct, the difference between the the two is only the sensor, the D40X has the D80 in it.
