It's only just arrived! and it's p'ing it down at the moment, I'll be out most of the day tomorrow with it though so I 'might' share some shots

I just got an email from the jessops. see below. Nothing that we didnt all know already.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for placing an order with Jessops for a D4. We would like to
provide you with an update relating to the supply of this product from Nikon
UK .

As you maybe aware that this particular model has been extremely well
received. Nikon, therefore are currently experiencing supply shortages due
to the high demand of this product and at present are unable to provide an
accurate estimate of availability dates.

Whilst we are not in a position to satisfy all current orders due to this
stock shortage, Nikon have provided assurances that Jessops will remain as
the first retailer to receive stock allocation in the UK . We would like to
thank you for your continued patience on this matter and will endeavour to
keep you updated regarding stock availability.

Please accept out apologies for the ongoing delays with your Nikon D4, we
assure you your order remains a priority for us.

I rang today, they dont have an anticipated delivery date or idea as to how many. Looking bleak for them satisfying all backorders by June as they told me...

LOL. Jessops have NEVER (for pro kit) been the first retailer to receive stock allocation in the UK.

Someone in Jessops is telling porkies.
 
Jessops are first AFTER everyone else :lol:
 
Theyre getting 10 in within 2 weeks (wow a 7th of their back order).

Which is what they say 2 weeks ago... and 2 weeks before that... and 2 weeks before that.

She also said, they weren't guaranteed to receive that many! Top notch.
 
I wouldnt, after speaking to the Nikon girl, if you havent preordered you wont get one for ages. Its not that good that you have to spend best part of GBP5k on a grey import.
 
Digitalrev appear to have them in stock for immediate delivery.
 
Well, apparently I will finally get my D4 next week. I recieved an email today saying so.
But it's been so long, that I'm at that "I'll believe it when it happens" stage. Having said that, it was from someone high up in Jessops at HQ.
So, should it really arrive, do I jump in the car and shoot over there and collect it. Or do I let the Birmingham store send it over to the Grimsby store and risk it getting lost/damaged or played with by some young lad in the Grimsby store.

It's only 2.5 hours I would drive.

I waiting for UPS to deliver my lens on Friday and they never came, so had to wait until Tuesday.

when did you order yours? may help the rest of us work out how far behind they are with pre-orders......
 
A while ago Dan. 4th March. It seems that they are getting 1 or 2 every now and then.

Hi Kevin, that's interesting, I ordered mine in February and have not received an email, I'll be onto them today to find out why they're fulfilling orders to people who ordered after me. I suspect it could be because I ordered my camera from the hull branch and not a big city branch as you may have. As far as I'm concerned that's not on and I want to know why they think that's ok.
 
I ordered mine in jan from jessops and still don't have mine or an email.
 
Hi jarva, where did u order your's from. My misses says I actually ordered mine at the end of jan, it's been that bloody long I can't remember the exact date. I'll find out tomorrow when I ring the gits to give them hell.
 
Interesting that you say that you ordered from Hull. I was told that I could only order from a Jessops Pro shop.I have a mate that is a manager at another store. He couldn't order it for me. He even asked his area manager.That's why I ordered it from Birmingham. Also, I paid in full and ordered through my business account.
If I were you, I wouldn't be contacting them until I actually get it. As I said, I will believe it when I see it. So don't rush in yet. You may look a bit daft.
An email is nice, but getting it in my hand's will convince me more. They may be just trying to keep me away from pestering them. I'll keep you informed as and when.

I pre-ordered online on 10 Jan and dont have mine. They do keep saying I should be within the next 2 deliveries.

I had some email correspondence from them stating that irrespective of whether it was store, telephone or web they are queued by order time/date.

They also said that they are not expecting any this week either.

Hi Gavt I ordered mine on 10th jan at Southend store and paid in full for mine as well, would be nice to get it but the amount of 2 weeks time is a joke so seeing is believing.
 
Mmm, listening to all of this, I'm not counting my chickens. Looks like the Z is staying in the garage.
