Nikon D3s Accessories

Hay I started playing with this monster last night and surprisingly it is not that complicated, a lot of the functions are in a similar place (menu wise) compared to the D7k, and the other dials are also in a uniform place.
I was pretty quick in picking up all the functions on the D7k and feel confident that I will do the same on this puppy............sure sounds different when you hit the shutter.
Today I am joining a group of 80 plus photographers on a walk around trip in Kuala Lumpur city so that should be fun, hopefully will meet with other D3s users to pick there brains and get some tips from them.
I notice there isn't a "AUTO" shooting mode.........where do I find that????????????

ggs screens are rubbish and can crack easy and they will mark your sceen, if you want a decent screen protector for both back and top lcds get the acmaxx ones.
Poly-carbonate LCD Armor with Nano coatings makes it scratch, dust and water resistant. Surface hardness reaches 5H V.S. regular LCD coating fewer than 2H.

i have put ggs screens on every camera,i own even my compacts
never been scratched and never come of and they always seem to clean easier as well.
you can see the screen just as well as without it so its win win.

it may be a high iso camera but imho you cant beat a 50mm and 85mm F1.4

Good question, I use a different foot on mine (with arca swiss bit built in) and I can't find the original at the mo. If you're carrying it for any length of time it's gonna be very heavy round your neck! I always stick stuff back in my bag instead of carrying it around my neck.

If you want to use a strap then defo attach to the lens for the 70-200 as the weight of it bouncing around won't do your lens mount any good

Hay man,
I noticed that the 70/200mm has two treaded slots on the tripod mount, should I attach the strap to one of these or should I attach the strap on the body when using the big 70/200mm?????

An alternative strap - something like a Black Rapid RS7.

Tried various memory cards and settled with the Sandisk 16GB Extreme Compact Flash Card 90MBS.

Steve

Steve,
I am now using both of these and love the strap and the memory cards download/upload super fast
