Nikon d3200 lens

Hi I have been asked to find the best lens for my dads 3200 camera for taking night shots of the sky. Been told I need a pancake lens. Any help would be great

A wide angle yes, a pancake no.
A pancake lens is just a smaller than normal lens, nothing to do with the focal length.
