Whats the best UK price anyones seen the Nikon D300 for?

Cameras2u and Jessops (same company I know) have it listed at £1299 but if you go via Pricerunner they are showing listings from them two as £1199

If that price is true then Warehouse express, currently listing it as £1299, should be £1174 with their 125% price beating policy

Hopefully by January its the right side of a grand! :suspect:

Also just a minor thing, is it just me or does anyone else prefer the little chrome like model number like on the D40x or the printed model number like on the D300?

Printed, just like the pro range, and it's easier to cover with tape.

Out of stock!

Nobody is likely to have much stock, unless they are Nikon Pro dealers, for quite a while, and then most places have huge waiting lists. Since they only started shipping in the last couple of days and there was huge pre-order demand you'll be lucky to find a shop with one you can buy.

Plus Nikon will supply the mail order companies giving big discounts with the left over cameras that the retail dealers don't order, so they will be down on the list too.

When I was buying my big printers, a lot of companies were advertising £300 and £400 cheaper than my supplier. The difference being, they never get the stock in.

I was told it's usually to get people on the site - which then pushes sales in weaker areas.

JacobsDigital.co.uk - a lot of people are offering free 4GB extreme 4 cards with them. Must be worth £80 itself!

the jessops in Reading says they have stock in the window, didn't go in to have a look.
