Nikon D3 - Cracking indorsment

Yeah Dave Black has been saying for a while that it's that good. I'm just hoping mine arrives soon as it's killing me waiting...

I know the 1d/s has been the leader for a long time and theres no doubting they are awesome bits of kit but i think their time has come now, Nikon really have pulled out the stops with the D300 /D3, from the looks of things the Noise control is about as good as it gets and is alot better than the Canons.

I reckon over the next 2/3 years we will be seeing alot less 1D's in pro hands and more D3's..

If you have 20,000 or 30,000, and a looot of time, invested in lenses for a carefully put together system and workflow which works well for you, you don't easily crossover.

Besides, how long do you think it could be before the market leader launches a new top-of-the-line model? With the D3 Nikon has thrown down the gauntlet. It's an in-your-face challenge of the market leader. Who cannot afford to be bested. So I bet Canon's thundering reply is just around the corner!

I disagree, Canon have only just launched the 1dMk3 and the 1DsMk3. So I think that's your lot from both companies for a while. Apart from A 5DMk2 and maybe something similar from Nikon I think you already know what both companies will have on the market for the next few years. Then again, you never know Nikon might also release some direct competition for the 1dsMk3.
