I've found a new D3 for £2569 and a few used ones for £2200 ish,I just wondered if anyone knew of a low use one going anywhere on the various photography forums :)

they come up on ebay every now and then, there was 2 finished last week

I'd reckon if that company have them at £2569 then others will too, perhaps even for less. You could drop JohnsonsPhotopia an email and see if they (as Nikon's official refurbisher) have any available.

Thanks for that Graham, Justin, i'm avoiding ebay for a bit

I'd seen the one at mpb, for the sake of another £500 I think i'd sooner get a new one, jacobs were selling B grades at focus for £2199 and it looks like there may still be a at least one left so i'll be giving them a ring to see what the story with them is.

I'm surprised clifton cameras still have them at that price, the D3s doesn't look worth £1000 more to me

I bought mine about a month ago with 5000 clicks on it for £1900 from someone upgrading to a D3s.

If you are a member of Nikonians.org there is someone selling one in the UK right now for about £2000.

I picked one up off ebay a few weeks back with 7200 actuations for £1800, so they are out there.

And sensor cleaning...

Remember the bigger buffer was a costed upgrade on the D3.

D3s is certainly a good upgrade but for me it was either £1900 used D3 or a £3500 D3s. Gonna have to wait for the D3s to come down.

Same here - I was this (very small space) close to getting a D3s back in March, but everyone had sold out the previous week.
I ended up getting two D3 bodies (to complement my existing D3x) instead and a couple of additional lenses such as the 85mm f/1.4.

Thinking about it now I may still sell my D3x to fund a D3s if the workload on the former is sufficiently low and the demand for higher ISO warrants the purchase...

It seems to me most of the secondhand dealers are still pricing them based on a RRP of over £3,500, they can be had new for circa £2,500 so I think they'll be on their shelves for a while at those prices

Thanks for that but clifton cameras are selling them new with 2 yr warranty for £2569
