Nikon D1 Charger Problem

Hi all
I have been using a Nikon D1 Charger for about 2 months and suddenly it has started to blow the fuse in the plug. This is an authentic charger with a 2 pin plug that runs through a shaver adapter converting it to 3 pin. The fuse is a 1 amp and i have blown 3 today.

Question is could i cut the 2 pin head off, and wire on a normal 13 amp plug?

My charger accepts a normal type of lead and instead of carrying an adaptor, I carry leads with the right plugs fitted.
Fo this type of thing it should deffo be a 13-amp fuse...

...and yes you can wire on a 3-pin plug - I've done it loads of times - just make sure the wires go in the right places...lol
