Hi

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of Nikon speedlites or other brand flashguns which support FP sync.

I'm looking at buying a new flashgun and was wondering if there's a list of ones that support FP Sync besides the 600/700/800/900/910

Cheers

Have a look at Nissin range. I have Di822mkII and I absolutely love it!

The older Nikon SB-28 offers FP sync but whether it offers it with your body is another matter.

I'd stick with the newer Speedlights simply for the benefits of Nikon's Creative Lighting System. Of those you listed, the 800, 900 and 910 are the most versatile as they can work in commander mode too.

For me the benefits of CLS far outweighs any cost savings buying a non CLS compatible 3rd party offering might bring.
I understand that the Nissin Di866 claims to be compatible with CLS, though how compatible/reliable it is I don't know as I've not used any Nissin flash guns.

I'm pretty sure my sb28 locks out st 1/250th and won't allow FP sync. Will have a look later....

Have a look at the sb700 - impressive little flash for the money

I've been using D866mkII as a commander and slave, no problems with CLS compatibility

With regards to the Nissin, I'm looking to get a third CLS compatible strobe. I was thinking of another nissin di6122ii but I gather its got a fixed channel and doesnt offer the flexibilty of the nikons. I have a sb900 also and use CLS to trigger.

Does anybody have experience of using more than one nissin with CLS?

So if I get this right, after reading up on t'internet, DI866 mkII is roughly the same spec as the SB900, is fully compatible with Nikon CLS, but a lot cheaper and the build quality isn't quite the same?

Would anyone recommend a Di866 over a secondhand SB800?
