Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing delays in getting their cashback from Nikon?

I bought the D7000 at the end of April, completed all the paperwork and sent it off, three weeks later received an email saying that I would receive the £100 debit card within 2 weeks and to contact them if it hadn't arrived in that time frame. All fine and good.

Three weeks layer, no sign of the card so I phone them back only to be told there must have been an admin error as my documentation hadn't been sent by Nikon to Citibank, but that it would now be done, so give it another two weeks.

No sign of the card again so I phone Nikon again yesterday only to be told there's been an other admin error, apparently the details of where I purchased the camera was missing of the file so it couldn't be sent. Again, many other claims had been affected.

Now this is nonsense as part of the original upload procedure to Nikon included the receipt which had to clearly show place of purchase, so I was wondering if anyone else's cashback claim has been similary delayed? I know from another recent thread that Canon have been 'at it' as well with regard to processing cashback claims.

Bought my D7000 a couple of months ago, got the cashback card within a couple of weeks of submitting the files online.

I bought a D7000 recently as well, just before the end of the cashback period. I uploaded all the documentation and was told all was ok. I received an email yesterday from Nikon saying that I should have received my cashback from Citibank and if I hadn't then I should call them.

I spoke to a girl yesterday who said that she could see that my card had been sent out on the 20th of June and it can take 7-10 days to get to customers. I guess I need to wait until early next week to see if it arrives.

I had the same issue blamed an admin error but after my phone call the card arrived a couple of days later

it is a shame that it's not enabled for cash withdrawals though, it's not really *cash* back.

No issues with an SB700 bought earlier in the year... And yes, I'd rather have a cheque Nikon, like you used to do. Took me ages to wait for an occasion to spend the £1.50 remaining on the card on. Parking charge in a multi storey, if anyone's interested :-) I'm guessing Nikon saves money when people don't spend that last £1.50...

It also starts to drain with a monthly admin fee after a certain period.

I was quite peeved at that, had 15 quid on a card, went to use it and found it was empty.
'kin 'ell... This card thing is even dodgier than I thought. Bet the admin fee goes straight back to Nikon too.

I had very similar issues, took around 6 weeks total to get it sorted, the girl or guy on the other end of the phone just gave me different excuses mostly, last excuse was because they had to give citi bank more funds indicating the account they used had run dry and they needed to sort a transfer out.

Never had a problem myself....claimed two cashback cards from Nikon and received fine.

Thanks for all the replies folks. Glad it went smoothly for some, but it seems I'm not the only one. Appears to be a similar tale to the Canon offer in that they probably only release a prescribed amount of cash at a certain time.

Wouldn't be so bad if they admitted to this, but to make up stories about missing info and admin oversight is a bit much. The guy I spoke to on the phone the two times I called was far from convincing in his explanations, so I suspect he was well aware the story he was telling was nonsense.

They use a 3rd party promo company in the uk however their quite useless. Mine was about a month later after the xmas cashback and e-mailing them got nowhere.

I had to e-mail the umbrella company and cc them into all the correspondence before I finally got things moving.

I got a D7000 in April, card took a bit longer to arrive than expected, but I did get it. To use up all the card value when I had £2 odd left, paid for my shopping in Sainsbury's and told the cashier to take what was left on the card and the rest of the bill I paid cash.

I bought the D7000 1 month ago and it only took the cash card 1 week to come through, always had a good service off Nikon.
