Canon are either considerably more popular or just overcharge!
I never released Canon were so big and wondering if it's because of all the other products they produce?
Even then you'd struggle to make it fair as they're both operating in different markets.
No, they both operate in the same market, but Canon also operate in different markets.
If Canon were doing so well how comes they shut their massive offices in Wallington, Surrey?
Oh dear...what have I just started...![]()

And an even more obsurd thing to assume is that a bigger net worth means that they are over charging customers.

you cant compare 2 companies on their "net worth", especially 2 global corporations like Canon and Nikon who have different subsidiaries and that operate in such a huge variety of markets.

The whole thread is just a laugh so lighten up.
Perhaps this will serve as a lesson to consider the responses you are likely to see in future. Cameras are investments (be it cash, time, brand loyalty) and therefore incredibly emotive.
if it helps

Not quite the same as a house or pension but I see your point. Nice sarcasm btw![]()

I am a bit grumpy today, but this thread is a bit silly. Opening up debate about large global company's size and worth based on a few stats. I just dont get it I guess. I dint realise it was a joke, forget my serious answers. Put it down to not enough coffee 1st thing in the morning.
I thought it was common knowledge that Canon was a lot more popular in the UK.
Part of the reason I went Nikon.
Canon are much more aggressive with the low-end DSLR market, hence why they have market share. They also do a hell of a lot of printers and scanners, more so than Nikon.
