Nikon battery charger info reqd. please

My grandson took his Nikon D5100 to New York and left the charger there. As I had heard horror stories about independent chargers catching fire, I tried to get a genuine Nikon charger on the Wanted forums with no luck so does anyone know of a reputable non-Nikon charger that won't cost him, (or more probably, me) a fortune? I believe the charger is MH-24, to suit EN-EL-14 batteries.

I use a Hahnel UniPal plus for travel charging duties. Does all my LiIons and can also do AA(A)s. Has a USB output too so can deal with phones, tablets etc. that charge from a USB port. The mains PSU works with 240 or 110 volts and there's also a 12V lead supplied with it for in car charging.
