Nikon announce 6mp D3 variant

I think somebody at Nikon needs to get out more.
They cut it in half why? to see what was inside? Heres a thought, maybe they didn't know what was inside because it was actually made by Canon???

I doubt that.....I can't see anywhere for the photocopier paper to feed in....

Is it just me or did anyone expect there to be more... errrr.... stuff inside the D3 and less... errr.. stuff inside the 24-70?

Nice link btw :)

I think they've removed the hamster and treadmill that gets you 9fps, before cutting it in half

I'm going to refrain from the usual Nikon jokes or the "best think to happen to a nikon camera" obvious line as i found this really quite amazing.

Seeing inside of a camera and lens at someone elses expense is better then at first hand

I think there were pictures of that about before the D3 was even available.

It really makes you appreciate the skill and precision that goes into the making of a modern day DSLR.

just wondering... what is the mechanism underneath the mirror doing? (Between the battery and the mirror)

Seems to be sat there, and i can't guess what it's for...

I'd love to have a full frame sensor in a D40 class body!

6 megapixels with that sensor would be just right :)

Cutting it in half isn't quite what I had in mind!

Now thats what I call Porn

IIRC, that's the AF sensor.

Nice piece of bisection by the bods (? apprentices) at Nikon.
