Nikon ai conversion

Does anyone know of any companies that can convert pre ai lenses to work on modern Nikon cameras?

The only place i can find is in America, looks like it could be quite expensive sending the lens over there.

Or has anyone done a conversion themselves? If its easy enough this could be another option.

I did one but a few years ago - there is a couple of "how to" on the web - just search - file, dremel and lots of tape and double sided sticky to catch the "file-ings"

Yeah I've seen a couple of written how to's, but no videos on how to.
Not sure if to jump in and do it or just sell the lens.

I would have thought there is accompany somewhere that will do it?
