Hi guys,
Still new and kitting myself out ;) Has anyone used this lens ? I appreciate I would have to be close to the subject (which I don't mind), but it seems to be a very good value macro lens (for what little I know). Available new for £185, but I can't find any useful reviews or anyone who has actually got/used one. I did a search on here and there's nothing in the past 2 years. (it's for a Nikon D3200)
Cheers
Stu

Sorry, should have said what I want one for.... Purely well let outdoor shots, flowers, bugs etc :)

You'll do ok with flowers but I fear you'll spook the bugs as you'll be too close with this lens

I almost bought one of these in the past. But opted for the old 60mm D micro instead - similar price used.

It'll be great for standard shooting, street, portraiture, general fun shoots - but for insects, it's a bit too close for comfort. Great for flowers, as mentioned, or any still life subjects, but skittish bugs are hard enough capture with longer macro lenses as is.

Kai messes about with it here:

Cheers for the feedback, I thought pretty much the same. I'll stick to finding a 60mm then guys, there's no rush. Maybe one will come up on here for sale when I have enough posts lol.

Haha.. just watched that vid, I knew I would have had to have been close, but that's a bit much ;)

Yeah, I appreciate that thanks... That's why I had been trying to stick with Nikon Lenses :) This'll be purely for macro wildlife shots, and probably corals/fish when I get my next tank set up again :)

The 60mm 2.8D is one of my fav old lenses. It's one of the sharpest Nikon have made. I'd say its a little sharper than the 105 vr! For a fraction of the price , especially used.
