Nikon 80-200f2.8

Would like to try out a Nikon 80-200 f2.8, but due to budget I might have to get the push-pull one, but what is the difference in quality between the push-pull and the two ring ones/ED?

Used to own, the push pull version, before moving to Tamron. It was heavy and built like a tank, but the image quality was excellent, so can highly recommend.
