I have the dx version (use it on D500) and find it good. Great value for money.
The VR is really effective and it is plenty sharp at 300mm.
I expect full frame version to be similar.

Waiting too see what reviews are like as want more FX reach on my D750 with light weight!
 
Not many places have stock - might see when Jessops have one in or Park Cameras and go have a play (will remember to update D750 firmware first!).
 
This will be an interesting thread to follow - I've got the AF-S 70-300 VR and find it hunts a lot in anything but good light and is very soft at the long end (where you need it to be sharp!) Could be an interesting alternative to a 70-200 F4 which I was thinking of replacing the old 70-300 with (I already have a 1.4x teleconverter)
 
Might be worth clarifying which lens this thread is relevant to:

Nikon AF-P DX Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 G ED VR (DX)

or

AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR (FX)

I am also waiting on reviews as I have the 70-200 F4 and really do miss the extra reach the 70-300 used to give me on FX.
