nikon 70-300 AF-S VR

Advice please


Recently bought a nikon 70-300 zoom also bought a x2 jessop tele converter but when i attach the converter the auto focus doesnt work it wont fix on anything any ideas.:bang:

Did Jessops know that was your plan? -- they should have advised you not to try.

A 1.4TC will work in strong light but still not designed to work.

(Nikon TCs don't even mount without modification)

Teleconverters aren't really meant for lenses slower than f/2.8, a lens like your 70-300 VR is an f/5.6 to start with,which is right on the limit of what the D60 will autofocus with under normal circumstances.

Assuming the tc has electronic connections to allow it to af then the problem is now that your body won't af with a lens which has a maximum aperture of less than f/5.6,which is what you now have, big time.
