Nikon 70-200mm vr1 v vr2

Just bought the vr2.

How big is the box,

:D A lot bigger than it needs to be! It looks like a big, gold waste paper bin ;).

If I remember, when I get in from work, I'll post a pic ;).

Congrats Jason, I'm fairly confident that you're going to love this lens (most owners seem to, so far).

Edit: A bit late, but here's a crappy pic to show the size of the box ...

I just took it out the box.

Will now put back in till I get home.

Its like christmas again.

Just need to hide it from the misses

can't say I've noticed any vignetting on my VR1 and FF

VR II... the colours better match the 24-70G

You mean it makes blues really BLUE!!! Because thats what the 24-70 does. Its mental!

Not in a bad way, unless you hate blue I suppose!

As I said earlier Dod, it started with one or two whiners and now people talk about it because they read it on the internet.

Surely not

I use mine every week, the vignetting is obvious at F2.8 on an FX sensor, not a whine just a fact.

you've a bad copy then, cause I use mine most weeks as well and have never had any issue

I reckon so, only an issue with FX, on film it was fine, zero vignette.
Mine is probably one of the first, the design may have been quietly tweaked over the years.

Bougt from Jessops.

LMAO, well done mate.

You made it about 50ft out of the store before you turned around walked back in and bought it! I can't wait for you to get snapping with it! As we noticed today in a real world test there is very little between the two on a D300s you tested my 70-200 V1 and the spanking new 70-200 V2 on my camera and the decision was based on availability (and a good price :naughty: )

You've gone from D90 basic to D300s with 2.8 from 24 to 200mm... Welcome to the club

Don't take this the wrong way :D

No :p

But how are you ever going to spot the deficiencies in the lens if you dont take meaningless pictures? Next you'll be telling me you don't pixel peep :D
