Nikon 70-200 VR2 2.8 - strange grinding noise

Anyone experienced a strange grinding noice from this lens.
It still works fine at the moment but randomly seems to exhibit a strange grinding noise.

Presume you mean when manually zooming in & out? Might have got a bit of grit/sand in.

Would advise sending, for service, as a matter of urgency. Further use, could potentially, lead to a much more serious (and costly) issue.
