Hi all, I've been trying to find a lens hood for my second hand 600mm lens. Everything else that came with it was pristine but I've never been able to locate a new hood for it .. anybody have any ideas where to get one?

Yeah, not cheap. The hood(s) for my 400/2.8 are $500.
You could probably DIY one from a piece of 6" PVC and some rubber electrical tape (to bush the front of the lens larger)... or make a "soft hood" from some black "foam board."

Actually, I think if I were going to DIY I would use 6" PVC and some self adhesive weather stripping inside it (instead of the rubber tape)... The only issue is PVC will be pretty heavy for what it is.
I've made/used soft hoods from foam board before to use while traveling.
edit: EVA Foam Sheet found in craft stores... not foamcore

Seem to be for crop sensors rather than FF but I'm sure a bit of jiggery and a touch of pokery would make one suitable for FF use as well.
