Just seen this on amazon..good buy or not? After short term fix until raise funds for something longer and faster. Price seems good reviews seem mixed?

I got a 80-200 F2.8 off ebay for 140, also the 50-200 sell quite cheap as you have said it is a short term might be worth going for an used on

Iv got one and think it's good, but as the price suggests it's for people new to the hobby. It's very plasticy and apparently not super sharp.

Its very small and lightweight, and the images I have took with it have been more than sharp enough for me!

Are you all referring to the vr2 version?

Nice shots Ken..where did you get it for that price???..bargain.I thought £115 was a no brainer lol

Looks well worth the money!Ken just looked through your images taken with it,very impressive!!

Ta :)
Images by the D5200 were all taken with the 55-200 VRII

I'll have a look to see where I purchased it from.

Certainly seems good bang for buck and nice and compact to boot!

Like I said iv been more than happy with the images from mine, and it's tiny. Compared to the 18-55mm vr2 kit lens it is only slightly longer and wider, which is a real boon :)

Yep certainly a plus point

It took about 7 days from order to delivery.

Ordered..lol. for £115 cant go to far wrong I'm sure.....I hope!!o_O

from hong kong..rather go through amazon tbh and pay little more

I wasn't in any rush for it.
I just fancied that focal length range to use with the D5200 rather than the 55-300 I was using with the D200.

Ah right..I am an impatient git so went for one on amazon lol

Hi mate had brief play with it but had to return it as had large dust particle behind front element.
Nice size and weight though

Should have gone to Specsavers...

That's a bummer.
You're right, nice weight and size.

Just ordered another from amazon should be here tonight! lets hope theres no lodgers behind the element this time lol

Really looking forward to seeing some results from this lens .................... :)

Will post some up when i get chance to use it mate.

I find this lens works great for macro at about 100mm with extension tubes.

Well have to say pretty pleased with this lens for the money! Lovely and light weight and not too shabby for the price! Only had old slobber chops to test it on quickly just now though...
