Nikon 50mm f1.8

Sorry to hijack the thread, but is it worth getting this lens even though my D40 doesn't have a built in AF motor?

for your d40 I'd consider this still worthwhile although maybe a little long for a crop sensor and also look at the 35mm 1.8 AF-S that will autofocus

i love my 50mm 1.8 took some great shots with it the other day when we had family down for christmas,
havent had it long(month or so) and the shots ive recently taken with it are great.
definatly happy with it
