Yes
I've just left a company (to start at a new one on Monday) and as a leaving gift, they got me a Nikon 50mm f1.8 D to go with my D7000!
It's very exciting.
Just gotta get some lovely photos with it now.
Nice to have a decent prime.

One thing that confuses me is the Apperture ring that is manually adjustable gives an rEE error on the camera if it's set at anything other than f22.
Is this because the apperture is electronically controlled by the camera and the manual ring is for use on cameras where this cannot be controlled?

edit, fEE, not rEE

yes but if you put the camera in manual focus i believe the ee error cancels just off to check hth mike

just checked and i'm sure theres a work around just can't seem to suss it out

Yeah I tried too just now but cannot seem to find it either. Not a problem, as I can adjust it with the front dial without a problem. It was just a thing I was playing with.

I had the same problem, I think i remember something in the menu that let's you set the aperture manually from the lens.

But doing it from the dial is easier. Once I found how to change it manually I never used it again :-)

Yes.

There's a lock switch on the lens, that you need to flick for the camera to control aperture.

Found it... F6 in the menu.

I think I'll do the same now!

manualy set the aperture to f22 there's a lock switch with a red dot at about f4 as you look at the lens switch it toward you and it works in auto
