My second question of the evening - At the weekend I got myself a Nikon - 50 mm F/1.8 for my D300s, I believe this to be a very popular lens so hopefully somebody on here can tell me……..does it require a fair bit of force to twist it into place on the body? None of my other lens is any where near as tight a fit, so I was wondering whether I should return it or persevere, ie. is this normal?

The 50mm f1.8 we have at Jessops are all very hard to get on the cameras. Saying that, others have no problem.
 
Mine is just "normal" on my D90 or S5 pro......
 
Mine is a bit tighter than my other lenses on my D300 - also on my D70.
 
Carlm90........mmm, I bought it from Jessops, can I ask whether you've had any returns due to this issue. I just don't like the idea of putting pressure on the mount.

The performance of this lens (only had a small play so far) seems very good for the price.
 
Mine takes a fair bit of effort to mount on both my D700 & D90, noticeably more than my other lenses. Not that fussed about it though, but curiously enough mine was also from Jessops.
 
Yup it fits pretty tight on the D90
 
Thanks everybody, I feel better now that I know its just not mine which is somewhat stiff to get on.
