Nikon 50 mm f/1.8D Nikkor AF Lens

I've seen a Nikon 50mm f/1.8d for $119us, and I was thinking of getting this when I pop over to New Hampshire for a wedding next month. The primary use for this would be taking head/body shots of my wife and also the bride, groom and guests at the wedding. Is this lens suitable for this type of work? It will be attached to a D50.

Yep, on a 35mm file SLR, a good focal length would be about 85mm (from what I've been told!), and the 50mm would translate to about 75mm on the D50 sensor. The nifty fifty is a good, sharp, fast lens too. Check the review of it on http://www.photozone.de
