I know this has probably been discussed before but would like some comments please. Would like a 35mm for landscapes but on this occasion don't want nor can afford the best f1.4 version. It will be used full frame on D4 for landscapes only stopped down most of the time. Any comments would be appreciated. Some will probably say I'm wasting my money

I have used both and found that the 1.8 is sharper, the F2 is a full frame lens though so you will getting some vignetting if not using a cropped mode

First and foremost is that the 1.8 is a DX lens, the f/2 is FX, for that reason alone I would be choosing the f/2! I have a 1.8 on my crop cameras and have been very impressed with it, it's made me fall in love with primes all over again !

Thanks for the simple answer in other words it has to be f2 for my full frame. I would like to hear an opinion about quality of the f2. Thanks

what about the bokeh difference between a f/1.8 and a f/1.4 35mm ?

Slightly leftfield, but if it is for landscapes, what about a manual focus samyang f1.4.

It is highly regarded, and if its anything like the 85 f1.4 then it'd be a steal.

I think there's one in the classifieds at the mo.

To throw another option into the mix. What about the new nikon 28mm? Has had a very good review on photozone.
