Nikon 35mm f/2 AF-D at MBP

Yes I noticed these a couple of days ago and was intrigued by the quantities, there are also a few SBR1C1 macro flash kits as well as 11 D200s, some with single figure actuations. The 35mm f2s are priced very keenly indeed, a lot cheaper than the one I bought on here!

One of the D200s has 2 (that's two ) actuations , I reckon Dave's on the right track re the source, judging by the quantities and lack of use...

Thanks for the heads up on this...Interested in those lenses...Being a bit of a DIY phobe if the aperture button has been glued how is the glue "easily removed" ?

probably by pulling it off. Give Matt a call if you're worried about it. Tbh, I'd find it useful, saves it coming loose and making you wonder wtf's gone wrong every now and again...

Hi everyone.

Just a quick note on this gear - it came from a medical laboratory that closed down so it has been extremely well cared for and only ever used in a controlled, indoor environment.

The glue on the 35's has been very neatly done (see 4th pic on the product for an example). It is generally quite useful in place for DSLR use but could be easily removed with solvent if required.

We have a lot of stock available, all very keenly priced and normal next day shipping resumes today after the bank holidays.

Thanks,

MPB

Have the primes all been tested for sharpness? I'm having problems finding a good copy of the 35mm.

Hi Dean,

All equipment goes through strict testing covering all aspects of the items including image performance/sharpness and all equipment comes with a 6 month warranty.

I know that, mate, but I've still had to send a lens back to you and it's getting a bit of a pita to do so. Admittedly only one to you, but a few to other sellers.

im very tempted to order one of these as i was considering buying the nikon 35mm f1.8 DX version for my Fuji s5 pro.ive being looking for direct comparisons between the 2 lenses but cant find any.if anyone knows of any comparisons please let me know or if you have used BOTH of these lenses how did you find they performed against each other.

also does the 35mm f2D lens come boxed with instruction leaflet and lens caps and hood

Hi Peter,

Both the 35mm f/2 and 35mm f/1.8 are great lenses and both offer excellent value for money. Generally speaking the f/2D is regarded as having slightly less distortion then the f/1.8G. It also has the advantage of use on FX cameras, although the focus is not as fast or quiet as the f/1.8G.

The 35 f/2D's that we have are not boxed but are in superb condition, with front and rear caps and 6 month warranty.

MPB : thanks for your comment above.i will make my choice over the next couple of days and if they are still available and i decide on the f2 D will be in touch

Thanks for the replies to my question...If it's glued then doesn't that mean that it's stuck wide open ? How is that useful if you want to make full use of the lens ? I wouldn't necessarily want to shoot everything at f2 unless I am misunderstanding due to my noobness :-)

If you are using on digital, then u can change aperture on your body, and you dont have to mind about glue. Also, I hope you know that D40 with that lens have no autofocus. For you it's even better to grab nikkor 35mm f/1.8. Im FX so I'm definetely going for this deal, hope they have plenty of those i have to wait about 3 weeks...

Just to clarify the aperture is glued at the minimum aperture, as required for use on DSLR bodies, so that aperture is controlled in camera. There is no issue with the function of this lens on a DSLR but as has been pointed out above a 35mm f/2D will not autofocus on a D40.

Thanks,

Thanks for the replies above. I had completely forgotten about my camera showing on the left as a D40. I have recently acquired a second hand D300 so do have a focus motor and was looking to pick up a lens that won't break the bank to try it out with...

I guess I am used to the AFS lenses on the D40 so this talk of gluing aperture rings is new to me. I hadn't thought it could of course be done in camera. I thought the gluing would stop it rotating regardless so a learning curve for me on this end of things !

Thanks again...
