Has anyone seen a full review of this in any of the magazines yet? When it was announced I thought it would be everywhere, but I've yet to see a proper hands on review.

Not seen one myself, I think most people are cooing over the D7000 instead :)

Im still drooling over the d300s and the full frame d700 myself, just waiting for prices to come down some more

I considered a D700, but realised that as a beginner, who was I kidding - I didn't need, nor want to pay the price for, a D700 - awesome though I know they are :)

I'm seriously considering upgrading from the D60. The 3100 does seem to offer quite alot more. On the other hand I may turn to the dark side and get a Canon 550D, which offers lots more, but looks horrible, is big and heavy and won't take my filters or my beloved 35mm lens.

Ive been waiting on a review aswell as i cant decide between the D3100 or the Canon 550D

If you're looking at moving to a 550D, why not consider a D90 or D5000?

I wouldn't move to canon if you've got nikon lenses.

The D5000 and D90 must be approaching retirement age now, the 3100 has more Mega Pixels and shoots true HD ie 1080p. The 550 seems bang up to date, there is nothing to touch it on spec at anywhere near the price. Video is important to me so the choice is 3100 or 550.

D90 is heavier than 550D (I've been considering the 550D partly because its lighter.)
