Is not having VR a set back?
Where I work I get alot of discounts on loads of different retailers, the first mon-fri of every month they do double discounts so I got 15% off at jessops. I know they did have another 5% off but not on camera bits. My company track it online and I have to wait 1 month to get the cash back but I just paid £1010 for the nikon 24-70Brendan,
Where did you buy it, and what did you pay? I'm currently considering one, and wonder if there are decent deals to be had.
Cheers, Mark

Just out of interest did anyone upgrade from a Nikon 28-70 'the Beast' which I find stunning on FX and cannot see how anything could better it. Focal length aside, has anyone any experience of upgrading? Maybe wrongly I feel it would be marginal. On the other hand I upgraded to the Nikon 28-70 from a Sigma 24-70 f2.8. The Sigma was very good, excellent at times, but not wide open or until 1.5 stops down and never quite gets to the IQ of the Nikon (on FX) so i could see a Nikon 24-70 would seem quite a leap if you have a Sigma or maybe a Tamron 28-75?
WOW, I love it already, I have missed a zoom and even at ISO 1600 its still really good very happy can't wait to use it more![]()
