Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 vs Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 vc

Looking to buy one of these lenses (to use on FX camera) and came up to this website:

Is there anyone who used both lenses on here? What is your personal opinion? I didn't try Tamron version (but tried Nikon and was amazed by AF speed).

Ive had both, the Tamron i owned was a dog and got sent back, the Nikon was also sold off in favour of the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, not because the Tamron was better but because the Nikon was a silly £1200 and the Tamron £200 and 98% as good, better in the corners wide open in fact, to me the Nikon was only the better lens due to superb build quality, faster AF and the extra 4mm at the wide end, the Tamron is/was on a par if not better image quality wise.

Anyone else got opinions on the debate over the Tamron or the Nikon. I am on the verge of buying the Nikon in the next 10 days or so and would really appreciate some more feedback from users of both lenses before i go ahead and make my purchase...

My sigma 28-70 packed up . Going to replace with nikon 24-70
