Nikon 180-600 Advice for airshow

Off to Cosford airshow tomorrow for first time or with Nikon 180-600. Any advice for using this lens as it's new to me?

In particular, looking to use a tripod and gimbal for props and helis as my panning is poor. Shutter speeds about 1/250 or lower at full zoom, what stabilisation settings would you recommend, Sport, Full or Off?

I don't know that lens, but I turn IS off when I'm panning. Does sport lock it to vertical IS only? If so, that's probably worth a try.

Have a 70-200 range in your kit also.

Planes travel far faster than you expect when 'close up'.

No need for a gimbal or tripod, they'll just slow down your reactions.
