Nikon 18-55 mm lens cap is crap,

there I feel better now, it broke down after just a small amount of usage.

shall get a 3rd party replacement ,will be better than this .

I have had a Nikon 18-55 for quite a while without any problems. Not the best lens I own, but not the worst I have ever had. Maybe you were just unlucky.

The lens is great just the cap is rubbish

In fact I have the Af-p version which Mr Hogan considers one of better kit lenses, I quote

It does the 24mp sensors justice, and if you’re shooting JPEG, the in-camera lens corrections take care of the few little problems that remain. Quite a remarkable feat, actually, considering the price and how many of these lenses Nikon produces. The build quality, however, is quite consumer. This isn’t a lens that will endure abuse.
