I am considering p/e my 18-105 VR and 18-200 VR 1 towards the new Nikon 18-300mm. Does anyone have any experience of this recently introduced lens please. If so your comments and views would be greatly appreciated.
 
worth a look at sigma and tamron options too... New tamron is 16-300 :-O
 
Tech Radar review on Tamron not very good in terms of colour aberration. Nikon review by Ken Rockwell and one by a user on dpreview good. http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3678980 Sigma was bottom of three 18-300mm offerings from Nikon, Tamron and Sigma on the reviews I read. I have Nikon 70-300mm but my wife has been using this whilst I use Nikon f4/300mm with 1.4 TC, but a heavy outfit to carry around and the other day the birds were too close and I couldn't get them all in. Thought 18-300 would cover a number of bases and new Nikon only 550g in weight. For use on Nikon D7100 so have the benefit of additional 1.3x crop.
 
Seems this may be too new for many people to have used one.
