Bought this lens recently and used it a few times. Went out today and there were some amazing reflections of trees and sky at the local reservoir. They are not what I'd hoped for. Polarising filter? Read up on which one for this lens and people are saying that there are numerous problems; DON'T buy one.
HELP!
I'd like to be able to us a filter, have I bought the wrong lens for landscapes which include the wet stuff?

The problem with using a polariser on a wide angle or ultra wide angle lens occurs when you polarise the sky. This usually results in banding across the sky which can look very odd. There is no reason at all not to use a polariser when photographing water/leaves etc on any type of lens, and in other scenarios too. They cut down on reflections and such, and the polarising effect cannot be simulated in post.

And no, you haven't bought the wrong lens - I'm assuming you are shooting DX ... at the 24mm end a circular polariser would be fine even for shots with plenty of sky in them. Much under that though and the risk of banding increases.

Thanks for that Paul. So disappointed when I put the images up into Lightroom. Do humans have a built in polarising filter?:D

No. The following image isn't too bad but the close up ones just didn't work.
