Also can anyone confirm if the ft1 adaptor allows sigma and tamron (Nikon fit) lenses to work?

That's a shame. I also have the Tammy 150-600. Have also the 105 os sigma.

I have a Sigma 180mm macro and that works. I borrowed a Sigma 18-200 and that did not work.

Bet the 180 is nice on it.

Yes it is give a nice long working distance from the subject.

Oh and I tried a Sigma 500mm f4.5 on it that did not work either.

Guys..some incredible shots here. Keep them coming.
Anyone used a Nikon 1 with a 50mm or 35mm (DX) on it via the adaptor?
My wife uses my FT1 plus my 50mm f/1.8 all the time on her J1. Really had to fight her for the 50mm while I've been without my Sigma 50mm ART.

It's an amazing combination. Good shots again from everyone.

I tracked down a cheap 300 F4 - it is coming tomorrow. It is mainly a backup lens for my 500 when away (just in case) but I am sure it will make a nice lightweight carry around with the V2 attached. Well - much lighter than the 500 and D810 :)

Looking forward to giving it a try

Nice, have you got the 1.4 to try.

Ime a bit torn at the moment,i want the 70-300cx to go on the V2,i have the 150-600 tamron for my DX and do need VR but i would really like the 300 f4.

They have the Nikon 1 70-300 used on MPB

Not cheap though :(

I got the 300 F4 as a backup for when I am away from home. If anything happens to my 500 F4 then the 300 will at least help me get some photos. I am interested in using it on the V2 as well :)

I think I will be ok without VR - I can always slap it on a monopod and it will be fine in hides as I have my bag / beanbag to rest on.

Your not helping :)
Just ordered some tubes to use with the 30-110 for insects, get a bit closer than this i hope.

don't hear much about v3? looks like a cracker... great shot buy the way..

Thanks
The V3 is on the cards when the price drops, although i do like the shape and handling of the V2,you shots have moved the 300f4 to first choice at the moment

yes I've been keeping my eye-out for a reasonably priced V3 they don't seem so popular as previous versions? View attachment 37675View attachment 37676 View attachment 37677
first: wall-brown with 1.4 converter, my converter vary rarely comes of this set-up..the moth is the sigma 180 macro (old version ) a lens i would never part with, only for the newer version...

Some great shots here chaps (y)

One from me to spoil it, taken at Bempton cliffs with the 30-110. Its such bliss to have such a portable kit. I have just ordered the Nikon 1 70-300 should be here in a few days.

---clip---

I think having the viewfinder as a separate entity/accessory kind of killed it :(
