Thinking of buying one what's people's thoughts on them any one own one ? Plus can get the adaptor to use my other lenses ?
Thanks all

I have the V2 and like it to use with the FT-1 adapter but i dont see a lot of point unless you want the extra reach.

Thanks for the reply
Yea that's what I'm after more reach I have a 50mm 1.8 a 70-300 dx vr11 and a 300f4 just not enough for me I struggle getting the images I wa t without huge crop so if I order a j5 and ft1 will obviously get a 2.7 X crop so a lot more reach my everyday camera is a d7000 that's getting on a bit now with high count and image quality is showing so want a newest I can afford body and this has caught my eye a few times so was after some advice before taking the plunge

The D7000 will knock spots of the J5 in terms of IQ

Also, at 2.7x crop factor you might well be lens limited, especially with the zoom (I certainly was with the 10mp V1) and also the J5 is tiny so won't balance at all well on SLR size lenses.

For a bit of fun, the J5 looks to actually be quite good given it's from the 1 series which historically hasn't been received that well. This one has the Sony style BSI 20mpx sensor, and for once has actually been received and reviewed well. Currently £209 body only after Cashback, seems good to me.

I tried one the other day seem an ok camera to me,very well made and good balance in my hands, price £249 with cashback with zoom lens, seem good value :)

I bought one as I couldn't find a V1 or V2 available and have no regrets so far. It's not a DSLR but provides decent enough photos with a 70-200 and FT1 adaptor. At £249 with the Nikon cashback I think it's well priced. I'd have liked a hotshoe mount and a viewfinder but maybe next version. Macro using the adaptor is also promising.

Went to buy one today was out of stock :( but gives me another couple of days to think about it I suppose

Hi,

I have two (couldn't resist), but as usual bought at the wrong time so no cash back, so are a bargain now.

Well made with an Excellent adjustable screen with touch control, RAW capabilities and a small form factor.

You would have to be careful with the adaptor as you can only use certain lenses I believe.

Bought the 1 Series 70-300 VR (189-810 mm on 35mm) which goes Straight on the camera, Small lens with a good reach but expensive.

Know you want to use the lenses you have, maybe one to consider.

Alternatively, why not buy a teleconvertor for the D7000? Something likes 1.4 or 1.7 should work fine with your 300mm and also be cheaper.
