Nikon 1.8D 50mm

I've got an opportunity to buy one of these its saying £65 Ono on the advert. What's your guys thoughts on these lenses?
How well does it manual focus? As the AF wont work on my camera unfortunately.

Save up and get the newer one perhaps, 1.8G I think they are called.

Manual focus only on a cheap little prime, poor experience can be expected in my opinion.

My concern was the 1.8 depth of field as well, if i'm a tiny bit out of focus would imagine it will look quite bad at 1.8?

I had one, it will AF on a camera with an inbuilt AF motor, noisely. It wasn't that bad actually but the newer G series one is the one to have. When I got the 24-70 I got rid of it and never really missed it.

It's a decent lens but showing its age now esp on FX cameras. I still use mine on my film SLRs but replaced it for digital use with the 1.4G

Save up for the 35mm DX get one for under £100 if you're patient.
