Sounds good to me, for a Nikkormat in that sort of condition, providing it's fully serviceable? I'm sure others, with more knowledge of values, will advise too.

Good deal. The lens alone (probably AI) is worth £40 in good condition. No headaches with awkward batteries like a lot of cameras from that age, just easy 1.5v SR44/LR44 button cells.

Nikkormats are great and undervalued compared to later mid-range Nikons. They're a bit bulkier and heavier than their descendents but absolutely bulletproof and very simple and enjoyable to use. Price sounds good, and the lens is a cracker.

Just found out its an FT2 not a 3 but looking at the prices on the Bay it still looks a bargain so I'm going for it

Can you post a photograph when you get it? I like all the Nikons, up to and including the F2, which was the last of the fully mechanical/manual bodies. The F3 and later models are superb too, but they just don't appeal to me so much. Nostalgia probably comes into it somewhere!

What about the FM3A, fully mechanical as well as electronic shutter, the best of both worlds and it looks really nice as well:thumbs:

Yes, it does. I have an FM, and I suppose I just prefer the old, completely mechanical, Nikons without any electronics. I can't afford an FM3A either, so that might have something to do with it too!

Will do probably be over the weekend

J A M M Y at that price as long as its working well on speeds and aps.

I bought an FTn for nostalga as it was the first camera I had, you will never be able to put it down when you get it.

Look for a non AI 43-86 Nikon zoom and a proper nikon ever ready case, I get my film from Morris Photo and bulk load.

Just remember its heavy and you will have to get used to fresnel focusing.
