Purchased a D700 and bought a 50mm f1.8D to go with it. Which of the "D" series lenses are worth looking out for? Apologies if "series" isn't the correct terminology.

AF-D was the range.

In addition 28-105 is a good walkabout zoom and does near-macro too.

I have the 85mm 1.4D, it’s beautiful!m
I also used to have the 35-70 2.8, that was a good lens too and can be had fairly cheaply

The 105mm f2.8 micro nikkor (D) is a stunningly sharp lens and also excellent when used as a medium telephoto lens.(y)

George.

The 60mm 2.8 Macro one of the sharpest lenses I've ever owned, even if you're only casual about your macro you should have it, they go for £200-250 on eBay
