Hi, I have seen this lens, Nikon AF-S 300mm f/4D ED-IF NIKKOR.
Going for 700€, just wanted to know if this is about the going price for this lens. I know there is no VR but I think the VR version is out of my range.

yeah that's a good price. i think i paid around €1300 for mine new a few years back. Good lens. there is a newer, shorter version of it, but optically it'll be the same.

[edit] Sorry, I think the shorter version is the V one :) The one you're looking at is better value. VR is nice, but if you're mostly going to be shooting sports/wildlife outdoors, it's not needed.

I'm with @cambsno second hand prices are around £500 for private sales, a little more in bought used from places like MPB or WEX. Looking at CPB the lowest new U.K. Price is £849 at T4 cameras and grey it's £727 at Panamoz.

Thanks all for the response, I've seen a UK one for 500, looks mint so might take a punt at it.
 
I've been looking at the used market as I'm going to be selling mine. Doesn't seem to be a lot about but should be another post coming on here soon ;)
