NIK software & Mac OSX Lion update

As Lion is due to be distributed I decided to check with NIK as to the compatibility of their plugins with CS5 & LR3.

Dear Peter,

Thank you very much for your e-mail.Apple is expected to release the latest version of Mac OS X, version 10.7 Lion, sometime this month. We've been working with developer release versions and found that there is an issue installing some of our plugins into Photoshop CS5.
If you have already installed your Nik Software plug-ins into Photoshop CS5 prior to updating to Lion, the plug-ins will continue to work without issue.

The current installers for Dfine 2.0, Viveza 2, Color Efex Pro 3.0, Silver Efex Pro 2, and Sharpener Pro 3.0 are not able to install into Photoshop CS5 on a Mac running OS 10.7 Lion. This issue will affect both new and re-installations of these plugins.

There are no issues installing our plug-ins into Lightroom or Aperture on a Mac running OS 10.7 Lion. There are also no issues installing HDR Efex Pro into any host application.

Our engineers have already begun working on a fix for the installers and we hope to start releasing these updated installers this month. We will be releasing updates to each product in succession, starting with Silver Efex Pro 2. Upon release, we will be notifying registered owners via email.

Thanks useful information, although I am a Aperture only user so I am fine :)
 
Interesting, thanks for that, will probably leave 10.7 alone for a while anyway.

There are going to be loads of this sort of issue as OSX 10.7 Lion will no longer support software that relies on Rosetta.

X-rite have been sending out email about compatibility issues with their older software too.
 
There are also some Canon applications that are not Lion compatible.
To find a list of what's on your mac that is not going to work with 10.7

Launch System Profiler (from Spotlight or the Apple menu)
Look for the “Software” menu on the left side Contents list
Click on “Applications”
Click on “Kind” to sort your installed applications by architecture type, scroll through the list until you see “PowerPC”

Anything listed as “PowerPC” will not run in 10.7 Lion. Intel and Universal apps will run just fine
 
It doesnt support Logic 8 either, Bummer :'(
 
My i1 colour spider has Rosetta based software too. Looks like I can't upgrade to 10.7 in a hurry either :( Thanks for the insight.
 
If you have an Eye1 then they are releasing new software in September which is Lion compatible. Nice to see a company looking after it's customers for a change.
 
Really like in the betas have been available for many month to mac developer and only now it has been released they are starting to do something about it.

I have quite a different perception of what looking after customers is about.
