I didn't realise that Google seemed to have become the distributor for this software. All copies via Amazon are out of stock and the cost for color efex is an extra £20 to that on Amazon. Is there any other distributor?

Nik Efex was bought out by Google some time ago now.

IIRC they now ship as a bundle via direct download?

There are a number of discount codes out there (google finds a number of them). They usually give 15% off - can't remember which one I used but it worked. Worth a try.

They used to be hundreds when you bought the full package, now Google give them at a superb price, I personally think they are one of the best plug ins, you won't be disappointed with them.

I'm pretty sure I paid over £220 for it a few years ago, maybe even £250? £95 is a bargain. Is it still being developed and updated?

It is being developed and updated but at a fairly slow pace. I think you get the updates automatically but I really should check. I use it regularly and think, for what it does which is plenty, nothing beats it. It did used to cost a couple of hundred per plug-in.

The updates seem to be "hidden" in that you don't get informed that there is a new version available, it just downloads in the background and installs automatically.
As far as I recall Analog EFex Pro was a free update.

Nik is only available as a download and if you do a search you can always find a discount code for it (usually 15%.)
It's one of those things that nobody ever pays the advertised price for.

I can't see you can buy the whole collection but I am only viewing on my phone at the mo. If that's that case then it would cost hundreds for most of them.

Nik is only supplied as a Suite of 7 programs, you can't buy them individually.

The suite "list price" is $149, which if I check an order form shows as 95 Pounds GB, but as I said, nobody ever actually pays that much.

It's an absolute bargain. And it's interesting that software producers seem to have woken up to the potential of supplying their products at affordable prices to the mass market. It wasn't that long ago that I (like many others) was frequenting torrent sites for what what I needed as I simply couldn't afford to be entirely legal. Now I have the Nik suite, legally purchased at a fair price, and I subscribe to the Adobe Creative Cloud programme.

Would pretty much agree with that statement. Have purchased and have now got to spend a bit of time playing to see what it can do.

The silverfx plugin alone is worth the £95 on its own for the amount of time it saves!

Yes there's a plethora of tutorials I've noticed. Watched the basic one first which was just shy of an hour but will persevere and watch a few more.
