After a PC problem, my elderly NIK software has bits missing from it. Mainly in Viveza 2. I can now only see 4 sliders and Warmth and everything below seems to have disappeared.

Does anyone know if the free NIK Collection is still available for download anywhere? I only use the Viveza 2 part of the software and with the whole package costing £125 it's a bit steep to pay for using only one small part. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

With regards the difference between the free and latest fee paying versions, do people think the "upgrade" is worth the expense.

I recently bought DXO's full suite for working on some photos with high ISO and noise levels and I am quite impressed so far. The suite doesn't fully utilise the NIK software, just specific elements and wonder if it would be useful picking up NIK as well.

Thanks for all the help and the speedy replies. Really appreciated.

I recently bought the full suite including DXO PL at an "offer" price as my Nik bits had ceased working. Although a committed LR user, I must admit that PL isn't at all bad. Only drawback is that it won't process my historic Fuji raw files. But since I'm now shooting Nikon it's no big deal. I'm puzzled as to which bits don't work for you, @trevjm ?

It is my understanding that the likes of Silver Efex, Colour Efex, HDR Efex are not incorporated into DXO PhotoLab Suite?

They are in mine. :) Maybe it was a bundle I bought? Can’t really remember. But it was about £60.

Depends how much you’d use of it I suppose. I got it for free but I can’t do without silver fx now. The black and whites blow away what I can get in Lightroom. If I lost it I’d pay for it just for that. Luckily I have saved the install files on a couple of hard drives ;)

I still use the free version that google gave away before selling it on I have them backed up for Mac and windows

I had the install files, but after it suddenly stopped working without apparent cause, I found I could not re-install. Maybe something to do with a clash of LR updates and MacOS updates in preparation for the upcoming version of Mac going to purely 64 bit processing. Anyway, the paid-for version works fine.

That’s weird :s. I did have trouble with it not working in photoshop for a while. I used to do 2 layers in photoshop using silver fx when I did long exposures using water so I could edit the water differently. I don’t like the way it does selections. Could just blend the parts I wanted then.
I use the output sharpener programme too sometimes

Does anyone actually use the analogue app? I had a look but I don’t think any of the presets looked like film. At least to me

No, I had a look but wasn’t impressed. Silver Efex Pro is the daddy for me. I can ignore the rest.

Same. Shame you can’t buy it on its own. Still £120 is good for all the programmes. I think I have the first version, looks like there’s some updates on their website.

Yes I use it sometimes especially when I'm using old film era lenses.

I played with it for a while and created a couple of presets that mostly do what I want or can at least be used as a starting point. I have to say that when I post pictures taken with old lenses and processed this way not many people on this site like them :D but I don't care :D and as when I use old lenses and especially when I used them in combination with the analogue filter I'm not looking to end up with a picture that looks like it was taken with a Sony GM or Sigma Art lens :D

I downloaded the fee copy when it first went to Google. My W10 and Adobe cc has upgraded many times since but they still all work fine. The only Plug-in that I regularly use is Silver Effex pro. This is mainly because I have almost all of the Topaz Plug-ins and use those. I have tried the Analogue App but it did nothing for me; I was happy to get away from film so have no desire to make my image look as if they came from old film.
