Edit My Images
Yes
allowing Nik into LR on install of Nik,is that the best way to go about it,
LR now allows me to Photo edit in and then choose from list, am I missing anything?
thanks

I tend to use it in this order: Lightroom>Photoshop>Nik or Alien skin>Photoshop>Lightroom tweaks>export from LR.

My computer is very laggy at the moment so I've stopped using all plugins. I don't get on with them as stand alones because I have presets that I like to use e.g. contrast.

That's the way I've always done it - works fine.
I can't recall if it does it by default, but if you save the edited image back into the same folder, it will appear alongside the original in the LR catalog.

I use Nik as a plugin & do the 'edit in' with lightroom adjustments. No PS here.

Toni, just to be clear when you say with lr adjustments you mean you use both ?

Yes - do all the basic stuff in LR first, including CA and lens corrections, sharpening & noise, highlights & shadow, B&W points etc, then in the library module right click the image & select 'edit in' to export the corrected image across to SEfex for conversion & adjustment. I don't think SE would do a good job on an un-adjusted raw file. When I've finished in SE & click on close it takes me back to LR and makes the adustments to the .tif file that LR created to export the image into SE & the adjusted image remains in the LR catalogue.
