Think I mentioned a couple of options earlier, been offered local work and lesser kit is good enough for sunday morning soccer, local amateur rl, was approached by another better agency but that's not an option now the 400 has gone, then theres weddings, I mean any numpty can do that with a point and shoot cant they :D

Vultures will be circling for some time Tony. The 2 major RL agencies offering free pics to press, Along with the usual hurdles of the "big boys" AI, Getty, PA etc there will be not a cat in hells chance of ANY useage from freelancers. People need another way in and be paid that way, Im ok Jack, Im sorted :thumbs:

And dont you know halfway through the WC i would have gotten a call and been asked to work for less money because of it, that or nothing said and just paid short with no explanation or the more likely and usual scenario is i would have just gotten another email telling me i was dropped and someone brought in who will do it for half price :nono:
 
The only thing I've got in connection with the World Cup is the New Zealand vs Cook Islands 'friendly' on Sunday 20th. I've been asked to do a few bits and pieces at some of the events that New Zealand are taking part in before the game as well.

Is that an agency treating you like that Gary? If so, I'm not surprised that you're a tad disgruntled.

Would have been good to go out with a last hurrah at the WC though! :)

I gave up because I couldnt make money from rugby.. spent a whole season with a full super league licence that never saw the light of day.. couldnt get a sniff...It wasn't my work as I am confident wiht that.. now the situation seems to be getting worse? :(

Why so many poeple trying to get into shooting rugby? I can see its a small area and not much in it (unless already established) .. thats why i didnt persue.. it would seem others cant see that and thus making the small market even smaller :(

I have no idea.. I've been shooting Championship most of this season (with Doncaster), and with the exception of the usual agency faces, (Steve Gaunt, Richard Land and some bloke called Gary) and local press photographers, I've not really seen any increase in photographers there (I have seen a couple of idiots taking photos from the stands, then approaching me and asking if I knew anyone who wanted to buy photos after the game... :bonk::bonk:). I know Super League is getting pretty saturated with guys at the moment though.
 
To many doing it for peanuts, and only because they have a well paid week day job... Plonkers ! ! !

They will learn when they get their peanuts cut in half !
 
Was only messing with my post Gary, reading on though it sounds like papers trying to get something for nothing. good on you for sticking up for your beliefs.

Sure you will get something sorted out
