Now i know you need a tripod for night time photos but, Will i still need a Tripod for shot like these with the main part of the photo being brightly lit up???? or is it still the case of tripod and slowing the shutter speed???

Thanks

You wouldn't necessarily need a tripod to make a shot like most shown but because night time photography is such a contrasty scenario most of the time, you will want your lowest ISO for maximum dynamic range.

If you can take a tripod, do it, your shots will be better for it.

If you can't, don't worry - your subject is still very well lit and you'll be able to capture it without but your ISO will need to be higher.

Nighttime photography can be a tricky situation but with little practice one can be mastered in it by some techniques. Taking photo's at night requires more work, both on your part and on the camera's sensors.
A tripod is typically necessary due to the long exposure times required for night time photography. A tripod will help you reduce arm fatigue and it will also hold the camera steady for extended exposure shots such as any night time photography. Without a tripod night time photos may not turn out as clear as you would hope.
