Anyway, no problem and welcome to the forums.
I'm taking it you mean light painting where you leave the camera on a tripod with the shutter open and then run around in the dark shining light on things to make the picture. i've not tried it myself but I'm sure someone will be along to tell you how.
Iv got a few light painting shots since I started, just needs either a tripod or a flat surface to rest the camera on, set the shutter sped to 5+ seconds and make sure the light you are using isnt to bright, or it will cause glare on the photo.
It really depends on what you want to achieve from light painting as to the advise to give as there are a few different styles so if you want to give us an idea as to what you are looking to achieve we can hopefully give you some advise as already said check out the creative section to see quite a bit of light painting
